D’vonte’s Bio

Hi, my name is D’vonte, I was Born in Inglewood, California in LA on September 25, 1995. What I like to do on weekends is go out and sell candy for some fun money. On school days I like to hang out at the mall with my friends and sell candy there, too. I really like playing video games, I am more into football and b-ball.

HIV and AIDS affects me, because people seem to think who ever has the virus is the odd duck and sometimes at school I hear people saying stuff like, “You’re gay so you have AIDS.” One time, I even heard a parent say, “You need to be careful, because those ‘AIDS people’ can spit in in your eye and you can catch it.” I was thinking to myself that some people do not know anything about the virus, and sometimes I just want to shout, “SHUT UP, because you do know what your talking about.” Maybe if you look into it you will probably learn more about the virus.

I have been going to Camp Kindle for the past five years. I have been going to a lot of other camps since I was 7 years old. My favorite part of Camp Kindle is SPEAK OUT because I can tell my story without being judged.

This is my first year going to Dance Marathon. I am excited to meet all the dancers. I think it is amazing that they stay awake for the entire 26 hours. I want to try to stay awake the entire 26 hours. My favorite dance move is the dougie.

My new years resolution is to be better at remembering my meds and working on a screen play.

New!

I just want to say thank you to all the dancers for your support! At DM your feet may hurt for a little bit, but the feeling of doing something good will last a life time. I can’t wait to meet everyone this weekend at DM!
